Project Manager
Skye is a junior from the Bronx, New York studying journalism at Northwestern’s Medill School of Journalism, Media, Integrated Marketing Communications. She joined Powertrain as a freshman and led the subteam in her sophomore year. Outside of Northwestern Formula Racing, you can find Skye making minimum-wage at SPAC and spending her minimum-wage at Insomnia Cookies.
Chief Engineer
Isabella is a senior from London, pursuing a BS/MS in mechanical & biomedical engineering. She was the Suspension Lead last year, committing to late nights of machining and was in charge of steering the year before. As Chief Engineer, she can’t wait to help the team finally adopt some healthy sleeping habits and improve education by running training sessions. In her (nonexistent) free time, she likes to machine personal projects and bake.
Aerodynamics Lead
Marina is a senior studying mechanical engineering and applied math. She is from Recife, Brazil, and has spent the past year in the “lovely” English countryside working with the Aerodynamic Performance Group at Alpine F1. She joined Aerodynamics her freshman year and worked on multiple projects; last year, she helped design the steering wheel for NFR23 six time zones away! This year, she wants to improve the subteam’s validation process and teach her members the fundamentals of aerodynamics. Outside of Formula, Marina is an avid sailor and loves to make lots of popcorn, but only on the stove.
Chassis Lead
Stella is a sophomore from the Bay Area, studying mechanical engineering in Northwestern’s McCormick School of Engineering. She joined Chassis her freshman year before moving to Powertrain, where she worked on the differential sprocket adapter and assisted with air cooling. Outside of Formula, Stella enjoys hiking, spending time with friends and playing piano.
Criticals Lead
Charlie is a junior electrical engineering major originally from Wellesley, Massachusetts. After transferring to Northwestern for sophomore year, he joined Formula and designed the electronic throttle for NFR's first EV car. This year, he is leading the Criticals subteam, which is responsible for the car's control and safety electrical systems. Beyond Formula, Charlie enjoys playing basketball and volleyball, reading, and doing other awesome things like Formula and looking at cars.
DAQ Lead
Zac is a junior from the Bay Area, studying electrical engineering. He joined Hardware in his sophomore year and worked on the Logger Board, which collects all data sent through the car. This year, he will continue the trend and lead Data Acquisition, which- surprisingly- is responsible for collecting data. In his free time, Zac enjoys playing video games, making video games, and trying to learn Chinese.
Energetics Lead
Deniz is a third-year pursuing a BS/MS in computer engineering at Northwestern. He joined the EV transition team as a freshman and served on Hardware as a sophomore. Now, he leads Energetics as they work to develop the high voltage systems of the car. In his free time he enjoys reading, rock climbing, and hammocking.
Powertrain Lead
Ben is a junior from Evanston, studying mechanical engineering. He joined the EV Transition team freshman year and moved to Powertrain where he designed the inverter and accumulator containers, earning him the nickname "Box Man.” In his free time, Ben likes to bake, bike, and play video games.
Suspension Lead
Cam is a rising junior from Boston studying mechanical engineering at Northwestern. He joined Suspension his freshman year and now serves as Suspension Lead after working on the rockers, hubs and brakes (along with lots of machining!). When not working with NFR, you can find him working on real cars, skiing and cheering on the Patriots.
Systems Integration Lead
Ben is a senior from Rogersville, Missouri studying Manufacturing and Design Engineering. He joined the team freshman year as a member of Powertrain, tuning the IC engine. Outside of Formula, he enjoys photography, hiking, and working on his car.
