Project Manager
Stella is a junior from the Bay Area studying Mechanical Engineering. She was on Powertrain and Chassis during her freshman year, working on a multitude of projects such as the differential sprocket adapter and air cooling. She became the Chassis Lead her sophomore year and is now excited to take on the Project Manager role. When she’s not studying or working on the car, she enjoys spending time outside, playing the guitar, and catching up with friends.
Chief Engineer
Charlie is a senior from Wellesley, Massachusetts, studying Electrical Engineering. After transferring to Northwestern for his sophomore year, he joined the Formula team to work on the electronic throttle system for the team's first EV. He led the Criticals team in his junior year. Outside of Formula, he likes to play volleyball, read, or mess with electronics.
Vehicle Integration Lead
Benji is a junior from Moscow, Idaho studying Mechanical and Computer engineering. He started on Suspension as a freshman, where he worked on hubs, uprights, tire modeling, and spring and damper calculations, before moving to Criticals as a sophomore, where he worked on the shutdown board and the inverter. When not working on Formula, you can find Benji looking at pictures of hedgehogs and feeding his online chess addiction.
Suspension Lead
Aidan is a junior studying Mechanical Engineering from Charleston, South Carolina. He joined the Suspension team his freshman year, working on rockers and helping manufacture projects before switching to Chassis to design the frame last year. In his free time, Aidan enjoys running and cheering on the Wildcats.
Drivetrain Electronics Lead
Anna is a junior from Plainfield, Illinois studying computer engineering. She joined Formula in her sophomore year, where she worked on the Electronic Throttle Control Board. This year, she’ll be leading the Drivetrain Electronics subteam, which is responsible for developing NFR25’s drive-critical electrical systems. Outside of Formula, Anna enjoys crocheting, playing clarinet, and spending time with friends and family.
Power Distribution Lead
Anton Walvoord is this year’s Power Distribution team lead. He’s a sophomore Computer Engineering major, and he’ll be working on designing the electrical harness and low voltage battery of the car. He was drawn to the team by the passion of everyone working on the car, and he’s excited to have a leadership opportunity here! Outside of Formula, he loves to play guitar and find new music, as well as work on personal electrical projects. He’s looking forward to another great year and an even better car.
Aeordynamics Lead
Danish is a junior Mechanical Engineering major from Serowe, Botswana (Southern Africa). He joined Chassis his freshman year to work on the differential mounts and transitioned to Aerodynamics his sophomore year to work on the rear wing. In his free time, Danish enjoys playing soccer, and basketball as well as watching the Premier League and NBA games.
DAQ Lead
Evan is a third-year pursuing a BS/MS in computer science at Northwestern. He joined Formula's Hardware team during his freshman year, and was a part of the DAQ team his sophomore year. During his sophomore year, he created his own programming language, which powered NFR24's wireless telemetry system. This year, he is leading DAQ, and he is excited to expand upon the car's data collection capabilities. In his free time, he loves powerlifting, making video games, and graphics programming.
Accumulator Lead
Matt Hosemann is a rising sophomore from Oakland, California studying Mechanical Engineering. This coming year, he will be leading the Accumulator subteam, which is responsible for designing and building the car’s battery and other related systems. When he’s not doing Formula, he spends most of his time playing soccer, machining, and modifying vintage cars.
Chassis Lead
Nathan is a junior from the Bay Area studying Mechanical Engineering. He has bounced around from Powertrain his first year to Chassis his second year where he was in charge of jigging the frame. This year, he has been tasked with leading the Chassis subteam which is responsible for designing and building the frame and all static components attached to it. Outside of Formula, Nathan enjoys playing guitar and basketball, going on drives, and cheering on his Bay Area sports teams.
Safety Electronics Lead
Arda is a sophomore from Ankara, Turkey studying electrical engineering in McCormick. He joined Formula in his freshman year, where he worked on analog high voltage safety systems for the Criticals team. This year he is leading the Safety Electronics subteam. In his free time, Arda enjoys playing tennis, watching movies and drinking an unhealthy amount of Turkish black tea.
Battery Management Lead
Du is a second-year studying Electrical Engineering at Northwestern. He joined the Energetics team as a freshman working on the LV BMS. Now, he leads Battery Management as they work to develop the LV/HV BMS for the car. In his free time he enjoys ultimate frisbee, reading, and photography.
